The Stitched Ring

The unexpected loss of my younger brother in 2013 was when the demarcation line of my life was drawn. I knew that from then on, everything would be split into two parts: "before his death" and "after his death." Vacillating between being shell-shocked and utterly devastated, I had to confront the stark reality of a world without him. I didn't know what to do with this gaping hole in my heart.

Inspired by a poem that I came across soon after my brother's passing (third photo), this ring emerges as a testament to remembrance. In the first few years, his death was the dye that bled into every crevice of my being. Now, over a decade later, memories of his vibrant life are woven into my days.

Stitched with diamond “thread,” I designed this to be worn as a reminder that, although our loved ones may be gone in the physical form, their memory and spirit are ever-present. May this ring stand as a tribute to those you hold dear.  – Hana
