How Does It Work?

We have a fresh new wave of inventory a few times a month. To be notified first, please sign up for our email list via the pop-up or the bottom footer. When a drop is live, an email will go out to let you know it's time to shop! While we make an effort to keep drops around the same day and time each week, it does vary. In order to stay in the loop and get first dibs, please keep an eye on your email inbox.

Because we have frequent turnaround, there is a limited amount of time for you to purchase an item before it becomes unavailable. If you see it on our site, that means it is still for sale. Any items that do not have a live listing on our website have either sold out or are no longer available.

Are your pieces plated/rolled/filled?

Absolutely not. We ONLY sell solid gold — pieces that are meant to last many lifetimes and hold, if not increase, in value. We don't believe in wasting gold by plating/rolling/filling what is usually base metal, only to have it just disappear with wear. At Kota, we aim to promote quality pieces in the world and eliminate fast fashion.

Where do you source?

While we can't reveal our sources (that wouldn't make us very good business people!), we can tell you that we spend countless hours every week searching for the coolest pieces at the best prices for you.

For original Kota Jewelry designs, we make them right here in NYC using recycled and/or LBMA-certified gold.

Where are you based?

We are in NYC.

Do you have a physical store that I can visit?

No, but we are working on it! In the meantime, we are planning on having pop-up events, so please be sure to sign up for our email list to stay in the know!


Shipping Policy

How much is shipping?

We offer FREE shipping on all US orders via USPS First Class mail. USPS Priority Mail, USPS Priority Mail Express, and shipping via UPS are all available at checkout for an additional fee.

We currently offer international shipping to the following countries:

  • Australia ($20 for orders $400 and under, $50 for orders over $400)
  • Canada ($20 for orders $400 and under, $40 for orders over $400)
  • France ($20 for orders $400 and under, $50 for orders over $400)
  • Germany ($50)
  • Indonesia ($65)
  • Kuwait ($65)
  • Malaysia: ($25 for orders $400 and under, $50 for orders over $400)
  • Netherlands ($20 for orders $400 and under, $45 for orders over $400)
  • New Zealand ($50)
  • Singapore ($25 for orders $400 and under, $50 for orders over $400)
  • Spain ($50)
  • Sweden ($50)
  • UK ($20 for orders $400 and under, $50 for orders over $400)

All orders $1,000 and above require a signature upon delivery.

What happens if my package is lost/stolen/damaged?

Every order comes with complimentary shipping insurance and tracking. If you have an issue with your package, please reach out to us at hello@kotajewelry.com.

When will I receive my order?

Orders are processed within 3 business days for items not requiring customization. Once shipped, it will usually take USPS between 1 to 8 business days for First Class delivery on domestic orders. Please note that shipping times may be increased during holiday seasons. For international orders, your local customs agency may add additional business days for clearance in some cases.

How much duties and taxes will I need to pay for international orders?

Outside the USA, ALL destinations are shipped to on a DDU (Delivery Duty Unpaid) basis, which means that all relevant import taxes and duties are not included in your final purchase price. You will instead be invoiced by our shipping partner and be liable for all charges applied to your order. We will not declare a lower value on any customs forms. Please contact your local customs office for an estimate.

What if my package is returned to you?

Any package returned to Kota Jewelry through an error on the buyer’s part will not be refunded the shipping cost (if applicable) and a restock fee of 15% of the item’s purchase price will be deducted from a refund. For packages that qualified for free shipping, the shipping charge incurred by us to send it to you will be deducted from a refund. Some instances where a package would be returned back to us is: an error/omission of the address rendering delivery impossible, not picking up a package in time from the post office, refusing customs duties, etc. Please note that the above list is not exhaustive and are merely examples. If Kota Jewelry has to pay duties for a package to be returned back to us, that will be deducted from your total refund amount.

If a package is sent back due to an error on the buyer's part and you would like us to resend it, you will be charged a shipping fee.

Can I make changes to my order?

If you need to make a change to your order, please contact our customer care team: hello@kotajewelry.com. Once an order has been shipped, we unfortunately cannot modify it or make any changes.

Can I pay using another method?

Can I make a return?

All sales are final and non-returnable. If you have an issue with your order, please reach out to us at hello@kotajewelry.com.

Unless an item is marked as “new,” it is an estate, vintage, and/or antique piece and its condition will be representative of that. While we strive to list all imperfections in the listing, if any, please ask all questions before you purchase a piece as all minor flaws may not be mentioned. Please note that all measurements are approximate and that while our machine can identify stones, it is unable to tell if they are natural or synthetic. As most of our pieces are estate, vintage, and/or antique, some settings for stones can be loose or stones may be glued in. Please take them to your local jeweler to make sure the stones are set securely as we sell them as is and cannot take responsibility for loose or lost stones. Not all chips/abrasions/cracks in stones will be listed and some should be expected for estate/vintage/antique pieces. For specific details, please ask all questions prior to purchase.


Layaway

We have partnered with Klarna so you can purchase an item outright in installments via the item page, as well as through Shop Pay Installments and PayPal Installments at checkout. In addition, we are happy to offer layaway plans for items that have been listed on the site for at least 24 hours.

In order to set up a plan with Kota Jewelry directly, we require a 25% deposit and offer up to 2 total months to complete all payments for items up to $499 and 4 total months for items $500 and up. You will be emailed an invoice in which you may choose the amount and frequency in which you make payments, so long as it is within the agreed term or sooner.

You are responsible for completing your payment within the layaway term. In the event of a default, you will have a 14-day grace period to complete the layaway before the item is released back into our inventory and all payments are forfeited. Should you decide to cancel your layaway order, all payments made will be forfeited.

If you wish to change your plan and apply the payments made as credit towards another item, we would be happy to arrange that for you. You may swap out your layaway item one time. After that, the second change will incur a 15% restocking fee of the last item's purchase price.

For layaways paid via PayPal invoice, we will use the address on PayPal for shipping unless told otherwise. Please make sure your PayPal address is up-to-date as we are not responsible for items not received/sent back to us due to a wrong address.

We will ship the item once the item has been paid in full!

Resizing & Customization

Do you offer resizing and customization?

Yes, we do! If an item is eligible, you will see a link on the product page that will take you to a resizing service which you can add to your order. Please note that items requiring resizing and/or customization can take up to four weeks to ship out. If you need an item by a certain date, please email hello@kotajewelry.com.
